Terms of Business
These terms of business set out the general terms under which I will provide insurance and investment business services to you and the respective duties and responsibilities of both you and I in relation to such services. Please ensure to read these terms thoroughly and if you have any queries, please contact me, and I will be happy to clarify. If any material changes are made to these terms we will notify you.

Regulatory Status with the Central Bank of Ireland:
Ronnie Tanner is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland, under Ref. No. C5818. He is registered as an insurance/reinsurance intermediary under the European Communities (Insurance Mediation) Regulations, 2005 (as amended), as a Multi-Agency Intermediary (Restricted Activity Investment Product Intermediary) pursuant to Section 26 of the Investment Intermediaries Act, and as an Investment Product Intermediary.

Ronnie Tanner provides life assurance and pensions advice on a limited analysis basis (providing services on the basis of a limited number of contracts and product producers on the market). I provide advice on the following product providers:

It is in your best interests that you review, on a regular basis, the products which I have arranged for you. As your circumstances change, your needs will also change. You should advise me of those changes, and request a review of the relevant policy, so that I can ensure that you are provided with up-to-date advice and products best suited to your needs. Failure to contact me in relation to changes in your circumstances, or failure to request a review, may result in you having insufficient insurance cover and/or investments.
Codes of Conduct:
Ronnie Tanner is subject to the Central Bank’s Consumer Protection Code, Complaints handling, Investor Protection, Minimum Competency Code and Fitness & Probity Standards, Anti-Money Laundering requirements, and Data Protection, which offer protection to consumers. These Codes can be found on the Central Bank’s web site, at www.centralbank.ie
I am remunerated by the Product Producers with whom I hold an agency, after I place business with them, in the form of commission payment. This payment is taken into account in the quotation provided to you and summary information is contained in the product information document. Before completion of your application, it is important that you receive this information, and that you understand the details contained. Full details will be included in the cooling-off letter issued by the product producer.
Conflicts of Interest:
I am required to comply with a policy of independence and disregard any conflict of interest when making a recommendation to you. Where an unavoidable conflict of interest arises, I will advise you of the steps I propose to take in order to protect your interests, before providing you with any business service. If you have not been advised of any such conflict, you are entitled to assume that none arises. My full conflicts of Interest procedure is available on request.
Duty to disclose Information:
It is your responsibility to provide complete and accurate information for insurers, when arranging an insurance policy. Failure to disclose any material information to your insurers could invalidate your insurance cover, and could mean that all or part of a claim will not be paid.
Ronnie Tanner complies with the Complaint Handling procedures, as laid out by the Consumer Protection Code.
All complaints are recorded and acknowledged to the complainant within a five working day period. Regular written updates will be provided every twenty working dates, at the latest. If the complaint has not been resolved within forty days, you have the right to refer the matter to the Financial Services Ombudsman, or the Pensions Ombudsman.

I am a member of the Investor Compensation Scheme, established under Section 38 of the Investor Compensation Act 1998. The Act provides that compensation shall be paid to eligible investors (as defined under the Act) to the extent of 90% of an investor’s net loss of €20,000, whichever is the lesser and is recognised as being eligible for compensation. I can accept non negotiable cheques or similar instruments for onward transmission to a relevant financial institution. I am not authorised to accept cash or negotiable instruments in any other circumstances.
Failure to Pay or Default:
Product Producers may withdraw benefits or cover on default of any payments due under any products arranged on your benefit. Details of these provisions will be included in your policy terms and conditions. I will also exercise my legal right to receive any payments due by me for business services provided in the event of a default of payment.
Ronnie Tanner complies with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation 2018 and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018. Ronnie Tanner is a Data Controller as defined in the Act. We collect your personal details in order to provide the highest standard of service to you. We take great care with the information provided; taking steps to keep it secure and to ensure it is only used for legitimate purposes. To fulfil these objectives we may share information with other affiliated professionals with your permission. The data which you provide to us will be held on a computer database and paper files for the purpose of arranging transactions on your behalf. The data will be processed only in ways compatible with the purposes for which it was given and as outlined in our Data Privacy Notice and Data Protection policy. We would also like to keep you informed of insurance, investment and any other services provided by us or associated companies with which we have a formal business arrangement; which we think may be of interest to you. We would like to contact you by way of letter, email or telephone call, under Data Protection legislation we believe that we can demonstrate that we have a legitimate interest in using your data for marketing purposes but you always have a choice. If you no longer wish your information to be used for marketing purposes please write to us, or e-mail us at email@example.com.
You have the right at any time to request a copy of any ‘personal data’ within the meaning of the GDPR) that our office holds about you and to have any inaccuracies in that information corrected.
